Metro State students may be eligible for the MN Post-Secondary Child Care Grant (CCG) program.
MN Child Care Grant
The provides funding directly to students who need assistance with childcare expenses while attending school. The grant funding is limited and is available to Minnesota resident undergraduate and graduate students who have not completed 10 full-time semesters (or its equivalent) of enrollment in post-secondary education. Students also must or to be considered.
How to apply:
- Login or create an account on the
- Click on ‘Online Applications’ and find the ‘Post-Secondary Child Care Grant Application’
- Fill out the online portion and hit ‘Save’. The next page will instruct you to print your application - you must click the ‘Print CCG Application’ button and print out the actual application. We have free printing for all students on campus.
- Take the printed application your child care provider—they need to complete Section B.
- Turn in the completed application to Gateway Student Services (first floor of Founders Hall on campus).
NOTE: Additional verification for this program is required by the Financial Aid Office with your provider to verify child care information, resolve any conflicting information in students' aid application (Example: county benefits reported, exemption discrepancy between taxes filed and number of children receiving child care, etc). Child Care Grant applications are considered complete and evaluated for eligible students only after provider verification and other necessary documentation is received by the university. If funding limitations are reached, a waitlist is established and students will be notified of their standing on the waitlist. - The Child Care Assistance Program provides financial assistance to help families with low incomes pay for childcare so that parents may pursue employment or education leading to employment, and that children are well cared for and prepared to enter school.
